Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as an anchor and reporter for WPDE-TV located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Then, she joined WCBD as anchor for the morning show and as a crime reporter. O'Dell's stories in Charleston about the police's leniency when it comes to DUI cases prompted a State Law Enforcement Division to examine. It led to the state government imposing more stringent guidelines in these cases. In the year 2000, The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with its Best Report of the Years award in the entirety of South Carolina Media. O'Dell's work in Charleston has led to her serving as a co-anchor, reporter and NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to becoming a part of Access Hollywood she was a co-anchor on weekdays as well as NBC's weekend co-anchor. O'Dell's current role as host for Access Hollywood is complemented by her work on NBC News Today, Dateline NBC and NBC News.
